We Need Your Voice NOW
The future of the Texas hemp industry is under threat.
In a recent interview with FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, Vince Sanders, founder of CBD American Shaman, sounded the alarm about Senate Bill 3 (SB 3) β a bill that, if passed, would ban all consumable hemp-derived THC products, including Delta-8 and even compliant Delta-9.
This bill isnβt about public safety. Itβs about shutting down an entire industry thatβs been legally operating under state regulation since 2019. Itβs about ignoring the livelihoods of tens of thousands of Texans β store owners, employees, farmers, processors, and entrepreneurs β whoβve built their businesses around compliance, transparency, and safe access.
What SB 3 Would Do
If passed, SB 3 would criminalize the sale of hemp-derived products that contain any form of THC β even the legal, trace amounts allowed under federal and current state law. This includes gummies, tinctures, oils, and other products that thousands of Texans use for sleep, anxiety, pain, and wellness.
Letβs be clear: this is a ban on legal, regulated products that are already tested, labeled, and taxed β the exact opposite of black-market alternatives.
This only benefits the blackmarket and bad actors.
Why It Matters
- π§βπΎ Over 50,000 Texas jobs could be at risk
- π° A thriving $8 billion industry could be gutted overnight
- π©ββοΈ Consumers lose safe access to natural alternatives they rely on
- π Small businesses β the backbone of Texas commerce β would suffer most
We support common-sense regulation, not prohibition. We believe in age-gating, product testing, and clear labeling. But banning these products entirely will only push consumers to unregulated, unsafe sources β and thatβs a step backward.
